Robinson Crusoe is a novel written by an English writer, Daniel Defoe, in 1719.

‘로빈슨 크루소’는 영국 작가 대니얼 디포에 의해 1719년에 쓰인 소설이다.

It is a very famous novel, and it has been popular with readers for almost 300 years.

However, few people know that the story of Robinson Crusoe was actually based on a true story.

In 1704, Daniel Defoe heard about a Scottish sailor called Alexander Selkirk.

He had a fight with his ship’s captain and was left on a small island near Chile.

Interestingly, in 1966 the name of the island was changed to “Robinson Crusoe Island” in honor of the much-loved character.
