Many of you may already know about Isaac Newton's laws of gravity.

However, did you know that the study of the physical characteristics of colors also started with Newton?

One day, Newton saw a set of prisms at a country fair and bought them.

어느 날, Newton은 한 지역 박람회에서 프리즘 한 세트를 보고 그것들을 샀다.

He began to do experiments with a pair of them at home.

In a dark room, he let a ray of sunlight fall on the first prism.

As soon as the white light passed through the prism, it separated into the spectrum, or the colors of the rainbow.

There was nothing new about this, as people were familiar with rainbows.
