I have been to the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan.

나는 천안에 있는 독립기념관에 가본 적이 있다.

Last week my history club went to Hyochang Park.

지난주에 우리 역사 동아리는 효창 공원에 갔다.

We visited the Kim Koo Museum inside the park.

우리는 공원 안에 있는 김구 박물관을 방문했다.

At the entrance of the museum, we saw a white statue of Kim Koo.

박물관 입구에서 우리는 김구 선생의 흰색 동상을 보았다.

Kim Koo is a great national hero who spent most of his life fighting for the independence of Korea from Japanese rule.

김구는 자신의 인생 대부분을 일본 지배로부터 한국의 독립을 위해 싸우면서 보낸 위대한 국가적 영웅이다.

In the 1900s, he helped educate young people by building schools.

1900년대에 그는 학교를 세워서 젊은이들을 교육시키려고 노력하였다.

In 1919, when the independence movement had spread throughout the country, he moved to Shanghai, China.

1919년에 독립운동이 온 나라에 퍼졌을 때, 그는 중국 상하이로 옮겨 갔다.

There he joined the Government of the Republic of Korea and later became its president.

그곳에서 그는 대한민국 임시정부에 가입하였고 후에 임시정부의 주석이 되었다.

The exhibition hall in the museum shows a lot of things about Kim Koo’s life.

박물관 내의 전시관은 김구의 생애에 대해 많은 것을 보여 준다.

While looking around the hall, we stopped at a photo of the Korean Patriotic Organization’s members.

전시관을 둘러보던 중 우리는 한인 애국단 멤버의 사진 앞에서 멈췄다.

Kim Koo formed the secret organization in 1931 to fight against Japan.

김구가 일본에 맞서 싸우기 위해서 1931년에 그 비밀 조직을 만들었다.

Lee Bongchang and Yun Bonggil belonged to the group.

이봉창과 윤봉길도 그 조직 소속이었다.

At one place in the hall, we saw two watches under a photo of Kim Koo and Yun Bonggil.

전시관 안의 한 장소에서, 우리는 김구와 윤봉길의 사진 아래에 있는 두 개의 시계를 보았다.

In 1932, Kim Koo made a plan to kill Japanese generals in a park in Shanghai.

1932년에 김구는 상하이의 한 공원에서 일본 장군들을 죽일 계획을 세웠다.

As the leader of the Korean Patriotic Organization, he directed Yun to carry out the mission.

한인 애국단의 지도자로서 그는 윤봉길에게 그 임무를 수행토록 지시했다.

When Yun left for the mission, he told Kim, “Sir, you are wearing a very old watch.

윤봉길이 임무 수행을 위해 떠날 때, 그는 김구에게 말했다. “선생님, 선생님께서는 매우 낡은 시계를 차고 계시네요."

Mine is new, but I won’t need it anymore.

제 시계는 새것인데, 저는 더 이상 그것이 필요하지 않습니다.

Kim Koo always carried Yun’s watch in his jacket so that he would not forget Yun’s sacrifice.

김구는 윤봉길의 희생을 잊지 않기 위해서 그의 재킷 안에 윤봉길의 시계를 항상 가지고 다녔다.

After completing the tour of the museum, we moved to the tombs of the three heroes, Lee Bongchang, Yun Bonggil, and Baek Jeonggi.

박물관 관람을 끝낸 후에, 우리는 이봉창, 윤봉길, 그리고 백정기 세 영웅의 묘로 이동하였다.

Their bodies had been in Japan, but after Korea’s independence Kim Koo brought them to Hyochang Park.

그들의 시신은 일본에 있었지만, 독립 이후에 김구는 그들을 효창 공원으로 모셔 왔다.

By doing so, he showed his deep love and respect for the sacrifice of the three heroes.

그렇게 함으로써, 그는 세 영웅의 희생에 대한 그의 깊은 사랑과 존경을 보여 주었다.

As I left Hyochang Park, I thought about Kim Koo’s words in My Wish that I had read in the exhibition hall.

효창 공원을 떠나면서, 나는 전시관에서 읽었던 「나의 소원」에 나온 김구의 말을 생각했다.

It was written in Baekbeomilji.

그것은 『백범일지』에 쓰여 있었다.

If God asks me what my wish is, I would say clearly, “It is Korea’s Independence.”

만약 신께서 소원이 무엇이냐고 내게 물으시면, 나는 명백하게 “그것은 한국의 독립이오.”라고 말할 것이다.

If he asks me what my second wish is, I would say, “It is the independence of my country.”

만약에 신께서 나에게 두 번째 소원이 무엇이냐고 물으시면, 나는 “그것은 내 조국의 독립이오.”라고 말할 것이다.

If he asks me what my third wish is, I would say loudly, “It is the complete independence of my country.”

만약 신께서 세 번째 소원이 무엇이냐고 물으시면, 나는 크게 “그것은 내 조국의 완전한 독립이오."라고 말할 것이다.

That is my answer.

그것이 나의 답이오.
