Deserts are very dry places.

사막은 매우 건조한 곳입니다.

They get very little rain.

In hot deserts, the temperature can reach 55 degrees Celsius.

더운 사막에서는 기온이 섭씨 55도까지 오를 수 있습니다.

But surprisingly, the nights are very cold.

하지만 놀랍게도 밤에는 매우 춥습니다.

Deserts usually have lots of sand and rocks.

사막은 주로 모래와 바위가 많습니다.

Strong winds make hills with the sand.

강한 바람은 모래로 언덕을 만듭니다.

These hills are called sand dunes.

이러한 언덕을 사구(모래언덕)이라고 부릅니다.
