This is why we have longer days in summer than in winter.

The longest day of the year is called the summer solstice.

일 년 중에 가장 해가 긴 날을 하지(夏至)라고 합니다.

The winter solstice is the opposite.

동지(冬至)는 그 반대입니다.

It is the shortest day of the year.

일 년 중 가장 해가 짧은 날입니다.

This means that solstices happen only twice a year.
