Koh Panyee was a small floating village in the middle of the sea.

Koh Panyee는 바다 가운데 떠 있는 작은 수상마을이었습니다.

Although the boys in the village never played soccer before, they loved watching it on TV.

비록 마을에 있는 소년들은 이전에 축구를 해 본 적이 없었지만, 그들은 그것을 TV로 보는 것을 정말 좋아했습니다.

One day, the boys decided to make their own soccer team.

어느 날, 그 소년들은 그들만의 축구팀을 만들기로 하였습니다.

However, people laughed at their idea.

그러나 사람들은 그들의 생각을 비웃었습니다.

"That's impossible."

"그것은 불가능해."

"What makes you say so?"

"Look around. Where are you going to play soccer?"

The villagers were right.

The boys had no place to play soccer.

소년들은 축구를 할 장소가 없었다.

They were discouraged.

그들은 낙담했다.

"Don't give up! We can still play soccer."

"포기하지 마! 우리는 여전히 축구를 할 수 있어."

"How?"

"어떻게?"

"Let's make our own soccer field."

"우리만의 축구장을 만들자."

The boys gathered old boats and pieces of wood.

소년들은 낡은 배와 나무 조각들을 모았다.

They put the boats together and nailed the wood to them.

After much hard work, they finally had a floating field.

It was shaky and had nails everywhere.

When they were about to leave, the villagers gave them new shoes and uniforms.

그들이 떠나려고 할 때, 마을 사람들은 그들에게 새 신발과 축구복을 주었다.

Some even came to watch the game.

몇몇은 심지어 경기를 보러 왔다.

This made the boys feel better.

At first, people saw them as the weakest team.

However, when the tournament started, the soccer team surprised everyone.

They played better in the rain thanks to the slippery field at home.

Although they lost by a score of three to two, still, they felt proud of themselves.

They didn't give up when they were losing.

They tried their best until the end.
