Why is Monet considered the first Impressionist?

Monet는 왜 첫 번째 인상주의자로 여겨지는가?

Monet's Impression: Sunrise is a painting of a view from his window.

Monet의 'Impression: Sunrise'는 그의 창에서 본 장면을 그린 그림이다.

He gave it that name because the goal was to create the feeling of a harbor instead of just painting all the shapes that he saw.

그의 목표가 단순히 그가 본 모든 모습을 그리는 것 대신 항구의 느낌을 창조해 내는 것이었기 때문에 그 그림에 그 이름을 붙였다.

A critic who disliked the painting wrote an article, "The Exhibition of the Impressionists," from which Impressionism got its name.

그 그림을 싫어한 한 비평가는 '인상주의자들의 전시회'라는 기사를 썼고 그것에서 인상주의는 그 이름을 가지게 되었다.

The article criticized his painting, saying it wasn't even as good as wallpaper.

그 기사는 그것이 벽지만큼도 못하다고 말하면서 그의 그림을 비판했다.

Ironically, the term "Impressionists" quickly gained favor with the public, and was also accepted by the artists themselves.

모순되게도 '인상주의자'라는 용어는 대중들에게서 인기를 빠르게 얻었고, 그 작가들 스스로에게 또한 받아들여졌다.

Even music and literature began taking on features of Impressionism.

심지어 음악과 문학이 인상주의의 색채를 띠기 시작했다.
