The person behind the amazing appearance of the musical The Lion King is the director and costume designer, Julie Taymor.

While growing up, she studied acting.

Later she traveled around the world to learn about dolls and costumes.

Using these experiences, she designed the costumes for The Lion King.

But she didn’t want the actors to hide inside big animal costumes.

Taymor’s idea was very successful.
