It’s easier to remember information related to us.

Our brain thinks about and stores this information differently.

So the more you can relate the information to yourself, the better you can remember it.

This was proved through research.

One study had people look at a list of adjectives—smart, shy, etc.

However, they had to think about the words in a different way.

The first group decided whether each word described their personality.

The second group decided whether each word was long.

Later, everyone was asked to use the words again in a surprise task.

Though the first group remembered the words well, the second group didn’t.
