Hong Kong is a unique place with a mixed culture.

It is a special region of China, so it follows many Chinese traditions.

그곳은 중국의 특별 지역이기 때문에 많은 중국 전통들을 따른다.

But it is also influenced by Western culture.

하지만 그곳은 또한 서양 문화의 영향을 받는다.

This is because Hong Kong was controlled by England from 1841 to 1997.

이는 홍콩이 1841년부터 1997년까지 영국의 지배를 받았기 때문이다.

As a result, the culture of Hong Kong is diverse, and the people are open-minded.

그 결과 홍콩의 문화는 다양하고, 사람들은 열린 마음을 가지고 있다.

When Hong Kong was under England’s control, the only official language was English.

홍콩이 영국의 지배 아래에 있었을 때, 유일한 공용어는 영어였다.

However, many of the people in Hong Kong come from the Canton region in China.

하지만, 홍콩의 많은 사람들은 중국의 광둥 지방 출신이다.

So their language was also commonly used.

그래서 그들의 언어 또한 흔히 사용되었다.

And nowadays, both Chinese and English are used as official languages.

그리고 요즘에는 중국어와 영어 둘 다 공용어로 사용된다.

Hong Kong also celebrates both Chinese and Western holidays.

홍콩은 또한 중국과 서양의 휴일을 모두 기념한다.

For example, Chinese holidays such as Lunar New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival are big celebrations for the people of Hong Kong.

예를 들어, 음력 설과 중추절 같은 중국의 명절은 홍콩 사람들에게 큰 기념일이다.

But they also celebrate Western holidays such as Easter and Christmas.

하지만 그들은 부활절과 크리스마스 같은 서양 휴일도 기념한다.

Because of its history, Hong Kong follows both Eastern and Western traditions.

그곳의 역사 때문에, 홍콩은 동양과 서양의 전통을 둘 다 따른다.

It has a special culture, and the people come from many different backgrounds.
