A man was speaking to his doctor.

한 남자가 그의 의사에게 이야기하고 있었다.

“My wife cannot hear anything,” he said.

“제 아내가 아무것도 듣지 못해요.”라고 그는 말했다.

“It’s very frustrating.”

“이건 아주 절망스러워요.”

The doctor suggested testing her hearing.

의사는 그녀의 청력을 검사할 것을 제안했다.

“Stand far away from your wife and ask a question.

“당신의 아내로부터 멀리 서서 질문을 하세요.

Then move closer and closer.

그러고 나서 점점 더 가까이 이동하세요.

And keep asking until she answers,” the doctor said.

그리고 그녀가 대답할 때까지 계속 질문하세요.”라고 의사는 말했다.

That night, the man’s wife was cooking dinner in the kitchen.

그날 밤, 그 남자의 아내는 부엌에서 저녁 식사를 요리하고 있었다.

Near the front door, the man asked, “What is for dinner?”

현관문 근처에서 남자는 물었다. “저녁 식사는 뭐예요?”

There was no answer, so he asked again from the living room.

대답이 없어서, 그는 거실에서 다시 물었다.

Sadly, she was still quiet.

애석하게도, 그녀는 여전히 조용했다.

He entered the dining room and asked once more.

그는 식당으로 들어가서 한 번 더 물었다.

Nothing!

아무 대답도 없었다!

Finally, he stepped into the kitchen.

마침내, 그는 부엌으로 걸음을 옮겼다.

“What is for dinner?” he asked once again.

“저녁 식사는 뭐예요?” 그는 한 번 더 물었다.

“Lasagna!”, she replied.

“라자냐요!” 그녀는 대답했다.

“I told you four times already!”
