Israel and Hamas Agree to Ceasefire Deal

The Middle Eastern country of Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas have finally agreed to a ceasefire deal.

After 15 months of war in Gaza, the two parties have negotiated an end to the fighting and a return of all hostages.

The deal consists of three phases.

The ceasefire deal was originally put forward in May 2024 by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt.
