Here’s a fun trick that uses this fact.

You can put an egg into a bottle.

당신은 달걀을 병 안에 넣을 수 있습니다.

The opening of the bottle is smaller than the egg, but the egg goes in.

병의 입구가 달걀보다 작지만 달걀이 들어갑니다.

First, get the materials you need: an egg, some matches, and a glass bottle with a long, narrow neck.

우선, 필요한 재료를 구하세요. 바로 달걀 하나, 성냥 몇 개, 길고 목이 좁은 유리병입니다.

Make sure the opening of the bottle is a bit smaller than the egg.

병의 입구가 달걀보다 좀 더 큰지 확인하세요.

Boil the egg.

달걀을 삶으세요.

Then, put it under cold water and peel it.

그러고 나서 찬물에 넣고 껍질을 까세요.

Put the bottle on the table.

병을 테이블에 놓으세요.

Next, light some matches and put them in the bottle.

다음으로 성냥 몇 개에 불을 붙여서 병 속에 넣으세요.

Then, quickly put the egg on top of the bottle.

Soon, it will go in!

Why this happens is simple.

The matches heat up the air in the bottle.

The air becomes larger, and some leaves the bottle.

Then, you close the opening with the egg.

When the matches go out, the air cools and becomes smaller.

This makes the pressure of the air inside the bottle lower than the pressure outside the bottle.

The higher outside pressure then pushes the egg into the bottle.
