Challenge 3: A New Look

도전 3: 새로운 모습

Of all the challenges I chose for myself, the third one made me the most nervous: changing my hairstyle.

나 자신을 위해 선택한 모든 도전 중에서, 세 번째 것이 나를 가장 초조하게 했다. 내 머리 모양을 바꾸는 것이었다.

For many years, I had kept the same hairstyle because I had been worried about my forehead.

수년간, 나는 내 이마가 걱정되었기 때문에 같은 머리 모양을 유지해 왔었다.

I had always thought it was large, and I didn’t want to draw attention to it.

나는 그것이 넓다고 항상 생각해 왔고, 그것에 주의를 끌고 싶지 않았다.

Since I was feeling confident after the first two challenges, I went to a hair salon and talked to the stylist.

첫 두 가지 도전 후에 자신감을 느끼고 있었기 때문에, 나는 미용실에 가서 미용사에게 말을 건넸다.

He listened to my concerns and helped me find a shorter hairstyle that suited me.

그는 나의 우려를 듣고 내가 내게 어울리는 더 짧은 머리 모양을 찾도록 도와주었다.

The next day at school, my classmates were a bit surprised.

다음 날 학교에서 나의 반 친구들은 약간 놀랐다.

But overall, the reactions were positive.

그러나 전반적으로는, 반응이 긍정적이었다.

I realized that trying a different look wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be.

나는 다른 모습을 시도하는 것이 내가 그럴 거라고 생각했던 만큼 어렵지 않다는 것을 깨달았다.

In fact, it made me feel more confident about myself.

사실, 그것은 내가 나 자신에 대해 더 자신감을 느끼게 했다.

I didn’t expect that stepping out of my comfort zone would have such a positive effect on how I felt about myself.

나는 나의 안전지대에서 나오는 것이 내가 나 자신에 대해 어떻게 느끼는지에 이렇게 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 거라고 예상하지 못했다.

I learned a lot about myself through this assignment, and I found out that my classmates did, too.

나는 이번 과제를 통해 나 자신에 관해 많이 배웠고, 나의 반 친구들도 그러했다는 것을 알게 되었다.

One of them tried new foods from different countries, while another joined a creative writing club.

그들 중 한 명은 여러 나라의 새로운 음식들을 먹어 본 반면, 다른 친구는 문예 창작 동아리에 가입했다.

Through these experiences, we all realized how important it is to push ourselves to try new things.

이 경험들을 통해, 우리 모두는 새로운 것들을 시도하기 위해 우리 자신을 밀어붙이는 것이 얼마나 중요한지 깨달았다.

We gained different perspectives on life and had a lot of fun, too!

우리는 삶에 대한 여러 시각을 얻었고 매우 즐거운 시간을 보내기도 했다!

My classmates and I even talked about setting more challenges for ourselves.

나의 반 친구들과 나는 심지어 우리 자신을 위해 더 많은 도전들을 정하는 것에 관해 이야기하기도 했다.

There are always more things that we can discover about ourselves, and it’s exciting to keep learning and growing.

우리 자신에 관해 발견할 수 있는 더 많은 것들이 항상 있고, 계속해서 배우고 성장하는 것은 신이 나는 일이다.

We never know what we’re capable of until we try!

우리가 시도할 때까지 우리는 우리가 무엇을 할 수 있는지 전혀 모른다!
