Jeong Segwon helped the independence movement in many ways.

For example, he built the office building for the Joseon Language Society and supported its efforts to keep the Joseon language alive.

예를 들어, 그는 조선어 학회를 위한 회관을 지었고, 조선어를 지키려는 그들의 노력을 지원했다.

When the Joseon Language Affair happened, he was caught by the police and suffered a lot.

Japanese officials pressed him to build Japanese houses.
