Ants have a secret: they have two stomachs!

개미에게는 한 가지 비밀이 있다. 위가 두 개라는 것이다!

One is for themselves, and the other is for sharing food.

하나는 그들 자신을 위한 것이고, 다른 하나는 먹이를 나누기 위한 것이다.

The second stomach is sometimes called the “social stomach.”

두 번째 위는 때로는 ‘사회적 위’라고 불린다.

After an ant eats enough food, it stores extra food in its social stomach.

개미는 충분한 먹이를 먹은 후에, 여분의 먹이를 사회적 위에 저장한다.

The food in this stomach is used for other hungry ants.

이 위 속의 먹이는 다른 굶주린 개미들을 위해 사용된다.

When a hungry ant sees another ant with food, it signals with its antennae.

굶주린 개미가 먹이를 가진 다른 개미를 보면, 더듬이로 신호를 보낸다.

The hungry ant says, “Feed me.”

The ant with extra food vomits some out of its social stomach.

In this way, the social stomach is important for ants.

Some ant species can expand their social stomachs to extreme sizes.

When they are full, they look like balloons.

Braille blocks are yellow because some visually impaired people can still see bright colors.

The blocks come in two main types.

The first design has long, straight bumps.

These blocks are placed in a line.

They show it is safe to walk in that direction.

They are usually placed at crosswalks or on subway platforms.
