Three plastic water bottles sat side by side on a shelf in a store.

가게 안의 선반에 세 개의 플라스틱 물병이 나란히 앉아 있었다.

Day after day, they chatted excitedly about their future, wondering what would happen to them.

One day, a boy walked in and picked up one of the bottles.

어느 날, 한 소년이 걸어 들어와 병들 중 하나를 집어 들었다.

The bottle turned to the others and said, “I’ve been chosen! See you on the outside!”

When the boy left the shop, he quickly drank the water and threw the bottle into a trash can.

It was then taken to a landfill, where the bottle was crushed under piles of other waste.

Sadly, this bottle will stay there for a long time—possibly hundreds of years—before it breaks down.

In the meantime, the waste will poison the soil and water around it.
