When we look at successful people, we focus mostly on their accomplishments.

But take a closer look, and you’ll see that many of them experienced significant difficulties throughout their lives.

Today Beethoven is remembered for his powerful, inspiring music.

This didn’t stop him, however.

In fact, many of his most famous works, including his Ninth Symphony, were composed after he had lost his hearing.

But at least Beethoven achieved success during his lifetime.

Vincent van Gogh wasn’t so lucky.

Although his paintings are worth millions today, Van Gogh remained a poor, unknown artist until his death.

Still, he continued to paint, and his works are now considered masterpieces.
