It was night.

Beth’s family was camping in a field.

Beth and Tom, her little brother, looked up at the sky from the tent.

The full moon was shining.

His dad started to laugh.

“No,” said his dad.

“She is joking.

The moon is made of rock.

We cannot eat the moon!”

There are many people in the world with no homes.

Some people are too poor.

Some people lose their homes in floods, fires, earthquakes, or hurricanes.

Why is the computer mouse called a mouse?

It had wheels on the bottom and a long cord on the end.

In the US, people shake hands.

미국에서는 사람들이 악수해요.

In Thailand, people put their palms together and bow.

태국에서는 사람들이 손바닥을 모으고 고개를 숙여요.

In Dubai, people bump their noses together.

두바이에서는 사람들이 코를 맞대요.

Each custom is special.

각각의 관습은 특별해요.

No custom is better than any other.

어떤 관습이 다른 것보다 더 낫지 않아요.

No custom is bad.

나쁜 관습은 없어요.

They are just different.

그것들은 단지 다를 뿐이에요.

But they all mean the same thing.

하지만 그것들은 모두 같은 것을 의미해요.

All greetings show respect and affection toward others.
